Samples that are handed in later than 4 hours after sampling must be kept cool and dark. The analysis should be analyzed within 2 days, but will also be able to be analyzed accredited after this, provided that the samples are stored and sent cool and dark in accordance with standard. The sample must not be frozen after sampling as this affects the accreditation status of the sample. When analyzing drinking water, we recommend turbidity instead of suspended matter.
If you still want clean samples to be analyzed for suspended matter, it is important to use a large sample volume (>500ml) for very clean samples, since NS-EN 872 requires that the amount of dry matter on the filter be at least 2 mg for results to be valid and is reported as accredited.
