Our laboratory has acquired a new analytical instrument, and now perform nutrient analysis in Oslo.

The durability of nutrients in water is short, and several nutrients should be analyzed within 24 hours (Table 1 (only in Norwegian for the moment)).

The sampling standard NS-EN ISO 5667-3 specifies that, for quality reasons, all samples with visible particles or unclear samples must be filtered during sampling in the field. Particulate or unclear samples can affect the repeatability of analytical results and negatively impact the analytical instrument.

Therefore, all samples must be field filtered. If the samples have visible particles or are unclear upon submission to the lab, they will be filtered at the laboratory, and filtering costs may apply.

If the sample exceeds the time sensitivity indicated in Table 1. before the analysis is initiated, the result will be reported as non-accredited. For longer durability, it may be possible to preserve or freeze the sample for certain parameters. Please note that for samples that must be filtered in the field, this must be done before the sample is preserved or frozen.

If samples need to be preserved, we have containers with preservatives. Packaging, filters, and syringes can be ordered through our website or by sending an email to resepsjon.on@algsglobal.com.
