ALS Laboratory Group Norways have, in recent months and will continue to, increase focus on proper packaging of samples to be analyzed for asbestos.

Correct packaging is crucial to prevent the risk of asbestos fibers spreading, which can expose our employees and others to serious health hazard.

We take incidents where sumbitted samples for asbestos analysis are incorrectly packaged very seriously. Improper packaging can lead to spreading of the asbestos fibers, creating unnecessary risks. We are required to manage such deviations internally and follow up with necessary measures for cleaning and testing the area where the sample was handled. Additionally, we will inform you about the incident to prevent it from happening again.

In cases where the order form is placed inside the same bag as the asbestos sample, we will set the sample aside and inform you that a new order form is required before we can process the sample further.

Asbestos samples should always be placed in two ziplock bags per sample.

The order form should never come into direct contact with the sample, but should be handed inn with the sample. If you have any questions about how to properly package the samples, or need further information, please contact us by email info.on@alsglobal.com or by phone + 47 22 13 18 00.
